‘Myopia’ (short-sightedness) is a growing problem in Viet Nam. Ophthamologists are hard to access and expensive in many parts of the country. More so, children find it hard to express that they have vision problems.

This is a ‘DIY’ tool for the early detection of the problems. As the child enjoys flying the kite outdoor, the letters printed on it are meant to be read aloud. This helps the parents to know, if it is the time to get their child’s eyes tested.

Costing 1 US dollar to produce, 1000 such kits were distributed. 5000 more kits are in production with the growing demand.
